Day 18 - Dinner and a Movie

Day 18 and today was the first time I was itching to shop!  I think it was because I got an email with all these great sales at my favorite stores. I quickly deleted it but had to go into my trash folder just to see what I was missing.  I was good though!  I worked from home today so didn't actually get dressed until 4 o'clock today.  I am wearing a black turtle neck I'm not sure from where and my Express jeans in gray with flat tall black suede boots.  Eric and I went to see The Impossible which was pretty good.  It was about a family that survived the 2004 tsunami.  I can see why it was called The Impossible because for a family of 5 to survive a catastrophe like that was amazing!  Then we went to Muldoon's for dinner.  We love their prime rib!  Tomorrow I'm going to Hoboken for a ladies night so tune in for my first real "going out" outfit!

Day 17 - The Limited

Happy almost Friday!  My brown dress pants from the Limited have been missing for quite some time now.  Every time I want to actually get somewhat dressed up for work I look for them and they haven’t been found until last night!  I try to hang my pants so they don’t wrinkle but I thought to look at my hidden shelf in my closet behind my racks of clothes to see if I had maybe folded them out of laziness one day and there they were!  So today I’m in head to foot (except the shoes) in The Limited.  I think even my cami under my shirt is from there.  The heels are Jessica Simpson.  They aren’t quite nude but have more of a gold shimmer to them but I tend to wear these whenever I have on browns/nudes/beige’s.  They are really comfortable but look like I’ll need new heels for them soon!  Nothing else particularly interesting to point out about this one but I am on day 17 and still going strong!  Have any of my readers repeated an outfit yet this year?

Day 16 - Ugg Snow/Rain Boots!

 

I woke up to a snowy/icy mess this morning in NJ so gave myself a delayed opening and got to work by 10!  I didn’t have my outfit picked out last night because I really thought I’d just stay home today but it really wasn’t so bad so I’m here!  I knew I wanted to wear my Ugg snow/rain boots that I love so to match them I could only wear a white or beige top so my that narrowed it down!  The shirt I’m wearing is from Aéropostale from years ago!  I think I bought this while vacationing with my friend Danielle in Florida at an outlet and I don’t think I’ve stepped into an Aéropostale since!  I think it’s cute and as long as it doesn’t have their logo all over it I’ll wear it!  Jeans are typical Express and my boots I mentioned were Uggs.  They are so comfortable and great for when it rains or snows!  I brought flats to work to change into though I didn’t want to be wearing them around inside all day!  Do you wear different shoes into work and then change as well?

Day 15 - Boring outfit but new photo location

Nothing exciting on today!  I decided to have a couple glasses of wine last night with dinner so was too lazy to select my outfit the night before which I try to do so I ended up with this old tunic top from Express (that I also have in probably 2-3 more colors you’ll be seeing this season) and leggings and flats.  Not even any cute accessories today to jazz it up.  Oh well I’ll try for something better tomorrow but it may be a WFH (work from home) day since I see snow predicted in the forecast!

p.s. – notice the new photo location?  I left my camera at work so couldn’t take one this morning at home before I left.  Right behind my desk is the perfect file cabinet height in front of a nice clean wall!  I may have a new spot although would be totally embarrassed if someone walked by and saw me taking a bunch of self-photos of myself!

Day 14 - Playing around with my camera

I love how a simple necklace can make an outfit!  I can't even tell you how old this white long sleeve shirt I am wearing today is.  It's from Gap and the tag says Perfect Fit Stretch on it but I think this may even be a hand me down from my sister.  I love the way it fits me and surprisingly it's still pretty white so I'm keeping it!  The necklace is from New York & Company by the way.  I am wearing a dark brown cami under it to match the brown tall Jessica Simpson boots I have on.  It's hard to tell the colors in the photo sorry!  The boots are super high and super cute although I'm not sure I Iike how the fold over looks from the back but oh well.  The jeans I have on are again Express but the fit on these are mid-rise (rather than low rise which is every other jean I own) and I must say they are pretty comfortable.  It's nice to be able to sit down and not worry about anything hanging out back there!  I was trying to take more photos of my outfits so you see it at different angles and not my standard pose everyday!  More candid shots to come in the future!

Day 12 and 13 - Juicy Couture Zip Up #2

I knew it was going to be a lazy Saturday since I had no plans for the evening so I decided to go for the full Juicy Couture “Terry” getup today.  If I was going to wear a zip-up that I had matching bottoms to I figured I might as well wear it!  I haven’t worn a full sweat outfit in quite some time but like I said yesterday, I’m trying to wear everything I own so why not make a full outfit out of it!  As Eric was taking photos of me this morning he said girls don’t wear sweats anymore and I think that’s true at least of women my age.  I wear skinny jeans now instead of sweats but I dug these out!  I love love love mini Uggs for the purpose of wearing them with sweats.  If I were to wear any of my tall Uggs with this outfit I would have to tuck the pants into the Uggs or else it would look to bulky with the pants over the Uggs which creates a totally different look.  So when I used to wear all sweat outfits I decided to purchase Mini’s in many different colors so I have them in Sand (wearing today) and black, brown and a weird Rust color (I may have worn them once but will find a way to wear them again this Winter).  In the 2nd photo I feature my favorite Burberry scarf in Pink!  Goes great with my off-white/beige outfits. 

Sunday I went out to dinner for my Dad’s birthday but forgot to take a photo but it was a gray striped top from Express with jeans.  Nothing special :)

Day 11 - Plaid and a Henry

Remember when plaid was in?  I think it was the trend of Winter 2011.  I really hate plaid but I had to purchase some kind of it since it was everywhere that season!  So last night Eric asked me if I had a cowgirl costume.  I thought it was kind of weird and I didn’t really understand why he was asking me this but he was trying to help me out with my blog by using his gun as an accessory to an outfit.  He’s a gun fanatic (I’m sure you know if you are his Facebook friend and have to constantly read all his statuses on the topic).  He recently purchased the gun I am holding in today’s photo he says as “décor” for our home.  It’s called a Henry.  He always wanted to put a gun over our fireplace and my answer was always NO but he’s obsessed so I might just have to let him.  So this plaid shirt came about all because he wanted me to pose with his gun!  Plus I am trying to wear everything I own so I had to get this one out of the way at some point!  The top is from Guess and the jeans are my Jessica Simpson’s.  The boots look like they’ve never been worn before when I pulled them out of the box.  They are Candies brand so I’m pretty sure they are from Kohl’s.  Now back to organizing my closets :)
